Young At Art

The Fine arts Society of the Southern Tier partners with area high schools to offer an art show and competition experience.
The YAA competition  is for local high school art students in grade 9-12. Generally the show is offered every
two years in early Spring and runs for a full month. FASST sends call letters out to all area schools/ art instructors to
announce the up and coming show. Teachers select appropriate pieces. All aspects of a piece are considered and
prizes are awarded in various media categories. A reception honoring all participants is held. Winners are announced and
recognized in various media.

ALL CLASSES:

Social distancing, masks required, hand sanitizer provided by FASST

pre-registration preferred, public welcome, signup-> Scott

$5 per artist per session-  noon-2 pm (6-10 yrs old)     3-5 pm (11 yrs old and up)

2021 BCAC Emerging Artists

Broome County Arts. Council and  The Fine Arts Society of the Southern Tier presented the
Emerging Artists Competition and Exhibition. This is a juried show with six awards  granted
For Composition, Line and Color, Originality, Use of Medium, Level of Difficulty and Best in Show.
Due to COVID guidelines, a public awards ceremony was not held. Winners were announced
during a private presentation with representatives of each school.

Beethoven Project 2020

The Beethoven Project Presents the 2020 Regional Emerging Artists Show and Competition
This show was hosted by The Fine Arts Society of the Southern /tier and the Broome
County Arts Council as part of the Binghamton Philharmonic two-year celebration of
Beethoven’s 250th birthday. This show was quite unique. Just as the show opened, activities
were shutdown due to the COVID 19 pandemic. The entire show was photographed as the show
Doors closed and presented to the schools, students and public virtual.
